Its purpose is to realize the miniaturization of instruments, reduce weight, reduce production costs and make it easier to use and maintain. Another important trend is to improve the performance of instruments and instruments through the use of microcomputers, and to enhance the automation, intelligence and data processing capabilities of instruments and instruments themselves. Instruments are not only for single use, but also may be combined with computers through standard interfaces and data channels to form a variety of integrated test control management systems to meet higher requirements.

"At present, most of China's scientific research instruments rely on imports. Because of research needs, many instruments need to be processed and developed new functions. However, because of the small amount of processing, foreign enterprises are often reluctant to accept them. Even if they do, they will delay the process of research for a long time. After the establishment of the center, it will combine the development of instruments with the needs of various scientific research units to serve basic research. Always buy foreign equipment for research, and the rhythm is a few beats slower than others. Many of the high-level laboratories abroad have specialized instrument research and development teams. When scientists find a way, the instruments they need can also be developed quickly, enabling them to remain at the forefront of scientific research. Our country's scientific and technological achievements are going to the forefront, which also need the innovation of instruments and equipment.

Cang Huaixing, deputy director of the center, said that there are many large instrument regional service centers in CAS, but only one innovation center is dedicated to instrument creation. The innovation center itself is not an entity, but a dynamic project-centered management organization, which plays an overall and coordinated role in the development of instruments and equipment. When researchers'work is limited by instruments and equipment, they can find innovation centers and put forward needs. Innovation centers organize and coordinate experts from institutes and even the whole country to form teams to research and develop the required technical functions. If the developed instruments and equipment are widely used, they can be used as a separate instrument development project to apply for national support.

Liu Zhijie, a researcher at the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that scientists are mainly limited by two factors in their research: methods and instruments. With methods and without instruments, research is still unable to make breakthroughs, which is also the driving force of instrument innovation. One third of the Nobel Prize winners are innovations in instruments, means and tools. But as a researcher, if he encounters the limitation of instrument function, he often does not know who to look for, because he does not know what ability other institutes have. Therefore, the integration and coordination mechanism of the center is very important for instrument development.
